THE NORTHERN ROUTE 125 KM
The route from Aalborg to Viborg is the only route heading from north to south. It features tough climbs, an outdoor velodrome and breath-taking scenery at every turn of the pedals.
The 125 km route and its steep climbs will certainly challenge your inner viking. The route passes through the beautiful landscape of the ancient road Hærvejen with rolling cornfields, beech forests, hills, lakes and idyllic villages.
After a tough start featuring the Col de Rebild climb, you will have the chance to enjoy the atmosphere and food and drinks of two delicious feed stations as well as a stop at Vebbestrup Ice Cream, Denmark's soft ice manufacturer.
You will also have the unique opportunity to ride a lap of Denmark's only outdoor velodrome.

Parking: You can park or be dropped off near the start location, for example at Godthaab Church at Volstrupvej or on the following streets: Sportvaenget, Birkagervaenget, Kildevej, Lille Volstrupvej and Lunden.
It is not possible to park right at the start or to enter Zincksvej.

Here we go! You're off on the 125 kilometer route along the Ancient Road, Hærvejen. Enjoy the starting area at a historic industrial site and museum that used to produce parts for the agriculture industry through hydropower.
The absolute toughest challenge of the route. At 1,200 meters and an average climb of 6,1 %, this hill challenges most riders. Especially in the last 200 meters. After the summit, you can enjoy the feed station in the beautiful surroundings.

The feed station in Rebild is located in beautiful surroundings, where everyone can take a much needed break after Col de Rebild. Sit down and enjoy the atmosphere and the views. And don't forget to fuel up with the delicious drinks and snacks.
Yes! The country's allegedly best ice cream should put a smile on your lips in Vebbestrup. The ice cream makers of Vebbestrup Ice Cream have opened their doors, and a free soft-ice is waiting for you. This is a must stop for all participants.
The last feed station of the route is located on the exact location, where a new bike park is being built. Ride a lap of Denmark's new velodrome before enjoying the delicious feed station.
Congratulations - you made it! Soak up the atmosphere as your ride the red carpet through the old city center ultimately finishing in the race village for a big celebration.
Now it's time to unclip and celebrate your achievement. This is where participants from all routes finish and meet. You can enjoy a well deserved meal and a cold drink while taking it all in.
