ABOUT US DGI

L'Etape Denmark by Tour de France is held as part of Denmark's biggest recurring cycling event, Hærvejsløbet - The Viking Gran Fondo. The event is organized by Danish sports organization DGI in cooperation with local clubs and associations along the route. There are more than 1,000 volunteers from various organizations involved in organizing the event.

They organize the starting areas, signs on the routes, food and drink stations and a lot more along the routes and in the finish area. For their work before, during and after the event they receive associations fee for their efforts.

Every year, more than 1 million Danish kroner goes to the voluntary associations from L'Etape Denmark by Tour de France to support their work to promote exercise participation in Denmark.

In 2026, the event is held for the 14th time and for the 4th time as an official L'Etape by Tour de France event.
